Claire Elise Boucher (/bu:'SeI/ boo-SHAY;[1] born March 17 the 17th of March, 1988) who is also known as Grimes, is a Canadian musician, singer, and record producer. There are many styles of her early music is described as "lo hi R&B" and "futuristic dance-pop". The artist has incorporated elements from hip hop electronic, and rock. A lot of her songs touch upon science fiction themes and feminist themes. Five studio albums were issued by her. Grimes was born and raised in Vancouver before moving to Montreal around 2000. Grimes started releasing her singles during the 2000s. two albums came out through Arbutus Records in 2010, Geidi Primes and Halfaxa in the year 2010. She subsequently signed with 4AD and became a household name following the release of her third studio album Visions In 2012. Visions features the singles "Genesis" as well as "Oblivion" as well as the Canadian music industry Juno Award for Electronic Album of the year. The album that she released as her fourth studio effort Art Angels was released in 2015. The album received high marks from the press and critics, while many magazines voted it to be the top album.
